Wisdom of Gaia

When I teach I often work in offices or classrooms, and oftentimes I will ask my students at that time to touch the Earth nearest them. They most often respond with uncomprehending stares as they look around the man-made environment in which we are working. It is most uncommon that any of them will reach up and touch their own faces.

In the process of knowing the plants, of holding them in our hands, we come to learn in time that they hold us, too. And when we understand that, it is very easy to touch our own faces and in so doing, touch Gaia.” Stephen Harrod Buhner
